Dearest gentle reader—Bridgerton is back! The third season of the Netflix series, based on Julia Quinn’s book series of the same name, will usher us into a new London season as the members of the ton leave their country homes and return to the English capital to find suitable marriage partners. That means we’ll see new faces in the Bridgerton season 3 cast though there’s new no main character this time. That’s because Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington are the central attractions. In the words of Bridgerton fans, it’s time for #Polin! Still, we have four new cast members elsewhere and a new actor is stepping into the role of a Bridgerton kid. (It’s Francesca—the one we’ve seen the least.)
There’s some shuffling behind the scenes too. Bridgerton has a new showrunner in Jess Brownell—a writer on two episodes in season 2, and an executive story editor in season 1—who takes over from creator Chris Van Dusen (he’s still an executive producer). Brownell too is an executive producer alongside Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Shonda Rhimes—the head of the company that produces Bridgerton for Netflix. Rhimes and her team are playing around with the order of the books in season 3. Instead of adopting the third book, An Offer from a Gentleman, Bridgerton season 3 takes after the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton.
What time is Bridgerton season 3 out on Netflix?
Here’s when Bridgerton season 3 — Part 1 and Part 2 — will be available in the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, and the rest of Europe.
It’s also set to be the first Bridgerton season to release in two parts—a tactic Netflix has slowly adopted more and more for its biggest titles. The first four episodes, Part 1, arrive May 16 on Netflix, with the remaining batch of four episodes, Part 2, dropping on June 13.
With that, let’s look at the ensemble cast for Bridgerton season 3. The list below is not exhaustive, of course. For instance, it doesn’t include those with minor roles or those who appeared in earlier seasons.
The Bridgerton household
Violet Bridgerton
Referred to as Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton, Violet is one of the ton’s most deeply devoted mamas. She had a happy marriage with the late Viscount Edmund Bridgerton and is the mother to eight distinct children who are named—in order—for the first eight letters of the English alphabet.
Ruth Gemmell plays Violet Bridgerton née Ledger in the Netflix series.
Anthony Bridgerton
Referred to as Viscount Bridgerton, Anthony is the head of the Bridgerton family. He is the first child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton and is married to Kate Bridgerton née Sharma.
In season 3, Anthony will be “protecting his peace”, showrunner Brownell said. “They really worked for their happy ending last season. [Now] they are lovey-dovey. They are playful.”

Kathani Bridgerton
Referred to as Viscountess Bridgerton, Kathani—or Kate to her loved ones—is the new lady of the Bridgerton household following her marriage to Anthony in Bridgerton season 2. She is the stepdaughter of Lady Mary Sharma and half-sister to Edwina Sharma. Neither Mary nor Edwina are part of the Bridgerton season 3 cast.
Simone Ashley plays Kathani Bridgerton née Sharma in the Netflix series.
Benedict Bridgerton
The second child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, Benedict is passionate about art and was enrolled at the Royal Academy in season 2. If the show had followed the books, he would’ve been the focus of Bridgerton season 3. Now it’s expected that he’ll be central to season 4.
Luke Thompson plays Benedict Bridgerton in the Netflix series.
Colin Bridgerton
The third child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, Colin loves to travel and spends the summers between Bridgerton seasons doing just that. Back with a new look in season 3, Colin finds that Penelope Featherington isn’t there for him anymore. He doesn’t know that she overheard him saying that he would never court her in the Bridgerton season 2 finale.
In a bid to become friends with her (again), Colin offers to mentor Penelope and grow her confidence—a department she’s sorely lacking in and needs all the help she can get if she is to find a match. As those lessons begin paying off, Colin is forced to wonder whether he might see Penelope as more than a friend.

Eloise Bridgerton
The fifth child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, Eloise is always found buried in a book or trying to get out of the next social engagement. With her friendship with Penelope going up in flames after the Lady Whistledown discovery in season 2, Eloise has found a new friend in a highly unlikely place that’s bound to turn heads, per the official Bridgerton season 3 synopsis. Going by the photos I’ve seen, that new friend seems to be Cressida Cowper.

Francesca Bridgerton
The sixth child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, Francesca has been more or less missing from the show. She arrived late for the first season, having been away learning the pianoforte with Aunt Winnie. She was present for just a few scenes in the second season. In season 3, Francesca will take her first steps into society.
“She’s very introverted,” showrunner Brownell said. “[She’s] really going to throw Violet for a loop because she’s not like her other kids, so it really challenges her parenting instincts.”
Hannah Dodd plays Francesca Bridgerton in Bridgerton season 3. Dodd takes over from Ruby Stokes—her busy schedule was the reason for Francesca’s limited appearances.
Gregory Bridgerton
The seventh child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, Gregory loves a good prank just like his father, as we learnt in the second season from Anthony. He is always teasing his younger sister Hyacinth, whom he’s closest to given their similar ages.
Will Tilston plays Gregory Bridgerton in the Netflix series.
Hyacinth Bridgerton
The eighth child of Edmund and Violet Bridgerton, Hyacinth was born after her father’s death. She is usually the most excited about romantic news in the family.
Florence Hunt plays Hyacinth Bridgerton in the Netflix series.
The Featherington household
Portia Featherington
Referred to as Lady Featherington, Portia is the clever, scheming and always-worried mother to three daughters—all named with P as the starting letter. She was married to the late Lord Archibald Featherington, who died in the first season.
Polly Walker plays Portia Featherington in the Netflix series.
Prudence Featherington
The first child of Archibald and Portia Featherington, Prudence is possibly the least smart of the three sisters. She was briefly engaged to her fourth cousin, Jack Featherington, in the second season thanks to one of her mother’s schemes.
Bessie Carter plays Prudence Featherington in the Netflix series.
Philippa Finch
The second child of Archibald and Portia Featherington, Philippa secured herself a husband in Albion Finch after Jack paid the dowry in season 2. The fact that she secured a match before her elder sister is a matter of great jealousy to Prudence. She’s technically not a part of the Featherington household.
Harriet Cains plays Philippa Finch née Featherington in the Netflix series.
Penelope Featherington
The third child of Archibald and Portia Featherington, Penelope is the author of the scandal sheet printed under the name Lady Whistledown. She has always harboured a crush on Colin Bridgerton and was left heartbroken in the season 2 finale. That came on top of losing her best friend Eloise after she discovered that Penelope had kept the truth from her.
As she puts herself forward in Bridgerton season 3 in the hopes of finding a husband, it’s going to become more difficult to keep her secret identity a, well, secret. With Colin helping her, Penelope is going to be courted by two new suitors in the new season.
Nicola Coughlan plays Penelope Featherington and Julie Andrews voices Lady Whistledown.
Mrs. Varley
The housekeeper of the Featherington household, Mrs. Varley is very good at forging other people’s handwriting. She’s also not afraid to pass comments around Lady Featherington.
Lorraine Ashbourne plays Mrs. Varley in the Netflix series.
The Royal household
Sophia Charlotte
The Queen of the United Kingdom, Charlotte is naturally the most powerful figure in the ton. She is married to King George III and is the mother to fifteen children—all of whom she considers a disappointment. Charlotte loves to steer the marriage market and consume the words of Lady Whistledown, even though she seeks to destroy her.
Golda Rosheuvel plays Queen Sofia Charlotte in the Netflix series.
Brimsley
The Queen’s devoted footman, Brimsley is found five steps behind Queen Charlotte. He has always done as Charlotte asks. On behalf of the Queen, he planted rumours to figure out Lady Whistledown’s identity, but the plan failed to work as intended.

The rest of the ton in Bridgerton season 3 cast
Agatha Danbury
Referred to as Lady Danbury, Agatha is one of the most powerful women in the ton. She was married to Lord Herman Danbury and served as the guardian to Simon Basset, the current Duke of Hastings. Agatha is unafraid to say what she means and knows her way around polite society.
Adjoa Andoh plays Agatha Danbury née Soma in the Netflix series.
Cressida Cowper
The only daughter of Lord and Lady Cowper, Cressida is self-centred and has always craved to be named the incomparable of the season. She was briefly courted by Prince Friedrich in the first season and Jack Featherington in the second season.

Will Mondrich
A former boxer turned gentleman’s club owner, Will is a close friend of Simon, the Duke of Hastings, and regularly sparred with him during his boxing days. He moved up in society after receiving a lot of his money for throwing a match. Will regained his honour by tipping off Colin Bridgerton on Jack Featherington’s dubious American mines.
In Bridgerton season 3, Will and his family seem to be moving further up in society, given what we see in the photos.
Martins Imhangbe plays Will Mondrich in the Netflix series.
Alice Mondrich
Wife to Will, Alice is always ready to offer her blunt advice. She too is a close friend of Simon, the Duke of Hastings.
Emma Naomi plays Alice Mondrich in the Netflix series.
Genevieve Delacroix
Referred to as Madame Delacroix, Genevieve is the town’s modiste who designs dresses for the ton that are sadly all worn just once. Her French accent is fake, which means that Genevieve Delacroix likely isn’t her birth name.
In the past, she was involved with Benedict Bridgerton. She also helped Penelope Featherington in shipping her Lady Whistledown writings to the print shop.
Kathryn Drysdale plays Genevieve Delacroix in the Netflix series.
Bridgerton season 3 cast — the new additions
Marcus Anderson
Referred to as Lord Anderson, and described as a “charismatic new entry to the ton”, Marcus Anderson is one of Penelope Featherington’s new suitors.
Daniel Francis plays Marcus Anderson in the third season of Bridgerton. Francis has appeared in the Netflix mystery drama miniseries Stay Close and director Steve McQueen’s anthology series Small Axe.
Harry Dankworth
Described as someone “who may lack wit but makes up for it with dashing looks”, Harry is one of the newest additions to the ton. He is seen on the arm of Prudence Featherington in one of the Bridgerton season 3 photos, which indicates he’s going to be her new suitor.
James Phoon plays Harry Dankworth in the third season of Bridgerton. Phoon was previously seen in the comedy horror series Wreck.
Alfred Debling
Referred to as Lord Debling, we don’t know anything about Alfred other than the fact that he’s going to be one of Penelope Featherington’s new suitors.
Sam Phillips plays Alfred Debling in the third season of Bridgerton. Phillips was the Queen’s Equerry in the third and fourth seasons of The Crown.
Tilley Arnold
Referred to as Lady Arnold, Tilley enjoys being her own woman and has done so ever since she was widowed at a young age. This has granted her freedom in both matters of money and the bedroom. From the photos I’ve seen, she might be a new source of refuge for Benedict Bridgerton.
Hannah New plays Tilley Arnold in the third season of Bridgerton. New was part of the historical adventure series Black Sails and the period drama series The Time in Between.
