Dracarys! Nearly 20 months—a year, seven months, and 24 days, to be precise—after the fiery finale that consumed a Targaryen boy, House of the Dragon has returned for its second season. (It’s been the kind of wait that was reserved for the final few seasons of its parent, Game of Thrones. Hopefully, the spin-off—which has already been renewed for a third season—won’t make a habit out of this.) If you haven’t had time for a full recap, you may naturally be a little light on the specifics. That’s why I’ve prepared a season 2 guide that runs you through the many House of the Dragon characters and which side they are on.
What do you mean side? Thanks to the prince’s death, the Seven Kingdoms are being torn in two. One camp—Team Black—supports Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen who was picked by her father, King Viserys I, as his successor. The other—Team Green—is backing King Aegon II Targaryen who usurped the Iron Throne thanks to the actions of Queen Dowager Alicent Hightower and her father, Hand of the King Otto Hightower. War has engulfed Westeros. Now that the table is set, there won’t be any time jumps as with the first season.
With that, here are the release dates and times for all episodes of House of the Dragon season 2.
House of the Dragon: who’s Team Black and who’s Team Green?
As the war builds in season 2, the Targaryens and their vassals have been split into two camps: Team Black and Team Green. So, who’s in which one?
House of the Dragon season 2 release date
When will the second season premiere? Episode 1 is out Sunday, June 16 in the Americas and Monday, June 17 in the rest of the world.
And where can I watch it? That depends on whether Max—the streaming service previously known as HBO Max—exists in your region. If you’ve Max in your country, then that’s the way to go. If you don’t have Max, keep on reading.
House of the Dragon season 2 release time in the US and Canada
What time does House of the Dragon come out? If you live on the West Coast—in cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Vancouver—you can start watching season 2 at 6 pm PT.
For those in the Mountain time zone—in the likes of Denver, Calgary, and Salt Lake City—episode 1 will drop at 7 pm MT.
For the Central time zone—for the likes of Dallas and Kansas City—the release time is 8 pm CT.
And over on the East Coast—places such as New York, Toronto, and Washington DC—House of the Dragon season 2 will premiere at 9 pm ET.
New season 2 episodes will air at the same time every week on HBO. You can stream House of the Dragon on Max in the US and Crave in Canada.
House of the Dragon season 2 release time in the UK and Ireland
For those on the British Isles—be it England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland—House of the Dragon season 2 episode 1 arrives at 2 am BST on NOW and Sky Go.
Each week, one new episode will release at the same time.
House of the Dragon season 2 release time in Europe
In Portugal, House of the Dragon season 2 debuts at 2 am WEST.
If you’re a House of the Dragon fan in Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, France, Hungary, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, or Sweden, the second season will be available at 3 am CEST.
In Bulgaria, Finland, Moldova, and Romania, episode 1 drops at 4 am EEST.
Future season 2 episodes will arrive at the same time each week on Max.
House of the Dragon season 2 release time in India
In India, new episodes of House of the Dragon season 2 will drop at 6:30 am IST.
As with all other HBO originals, the Game of Thrones spin-off is exclusive to JioCinema.
House of the Dragon season 2 is not available on TV in India.
House of the Dragon season 2 release time in Australia
If you live on the West Coast—in Perth or elsewhere—the new House of the Dragon episode drops at 9 am AWST.
For the Central time zone—in cities such as Adelaide—the release time is 10:30 am ACST.
That leaves the East Coast—in the likes of Melbourne and Sydney—where House of the Dragon season 2 arrives at 11 am AEST.
The following episodes will also be available at the same time each week on Binge.
House of the Dragon season 2 release time in New Zealand
For most Kiwis, the second season of the HBO series will premiere at 1 pm.
Unless you live on the Chatham Islands, then the release time is 1:45 pm.
On TV, you can watch the Thrones spin-off on SoHo. You can stream it on Neon.
The remaining episodes of House of the Dragon season 2 will also fly in at the same time each week.
How many episodes are in season 2?
There are a total of eight episodes in the second season of House of the Dragon. One new episode will be released each Sunday—or Monday, depending on where you live—until the season 2 finale on August 4. Here’s the full schedule.
