Spoilers ahead for episode 3 of House of the Dragon season 2.

Table-setting. That was the keyword for the third episode of the second season of House of the Dragon. With war looming, the pieces on the board are arranged in place. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen sends Rhaena—Daemon’s second daughter from his second marriage—off to the Vale with her two youngest children, her youngest dragons, and dragon eggs. This is protection. Were something to happen to her, her bloodline would be secured. (Well, until the Vale were to be invaded and all slain.) At King’s Landing, the new Hand of the King—Criston Cole—has the bright idea of securing the Riverlands by mounting a small party to Harrenhal. Too bad Daemon had that idea already.

Speaking of Harrenhal, that cursed place—House of the Dragon turns into a horror show whenever it’s there—was the setting for one of the two most interesting scenes last week. Daemon has a vision of a young Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock making a surprise return) sewing Jaehaerys’ head onto his body. That’s the boy whose murder he sanctioned. Now, he’s being haunted. Shortly after, a woman foretells his death. Who is she? The third episode’s best scene came at the very end as Rhaenyra sneaked into King’s Landing to see Queen Dowager Alicent Hightower. She tried to reason with her in a bid to end the war but even after Alicent learnt the truth—King Viserys wasn’t talking about Aegon II but Aegon the Conqueror—she wouldn’t relent.

War is coming. With that, here are the release dates and times for House of the Dragon season 2 episode 4.
