The Pandits, the Tripathis, and all the other major clans return for the third season of Mirzapur. It’s time for a refresher.

After a long, long time—three years, eight months and 12 days, to be precise—Mirzapur is back. (The gap between seasons was no doubt extended by the COVID-19 pandemic.) The third season of the ultra-violent series arrives on Friday, July 5 with all 10 hourlong episodes on Amazon Prime Video worldwide. A new status quo prevails among the gangsters of Purvanchal, the eastern section of India’s most populous state, at the start of season 3. An upstart has usurped the throne of his former boss, pushing the dark and lawless world of Mirzapur deeper into vengeance and power struggles. Who will rule over the city—and its surroundings—when season 3 is done?
Mirzapur season 3 could potentially be the series’ last, with director and executive producer Gurmmeet Singh calling it “the ultimate showdown for control of Mirzapur”. Let’s hope that doesn’t prove to be the case and that we don’t have to wait as long as we have for season 3. For now, though, you can look forward to 10 new Mirzapur episodes. Given all the time that’s passed, I suppose you could use a refresher on who’s who in Mirzapur. No new major additions have been announced for the Prime Video series. Given how massive the ensemble already is, that’s probably a good thing.
With that, here’s the main Mirzapur season 3 cast in full.
Mirzapur season 3 review: overcrowded and overpowered
Afraid of evolving, the overlong third season of Mirzapur doesn’t know how to best utilise its principal characters, let alone the giant ensemble at its disposal.
Pankaj Tripathi, Akhandanand Tripathi
The 47-year-old Tripathi plays Akhandanand “Kaleen Bhaiya” Tripathi, the erstwhile central power figure in the city of Mirzapur, who lost his son Munna and his grip on power at the end of the second season. He was rescued by Sharad Shukla.
His fate is unclear but the Mirzapur season 3 trailer guaranteed that we’ll see him healthy again. Akhandanand is Beena’s husband—well, in name anyway.
Ali Fazal, Govind Pandit
The 37-year-old Fazal is back as Govind “Guddu” Pandit, the new man in the Mirzapur hot seat who pushed out his former employer Kaleen Bhaiya to claim it all for himself. As such, Guddu also takes over the Tripathi carpet business, which is a front for the illicit production of small arms.
At the start of Mirzapur season 3, Guddu must convince the Purvanchal powerful that his claim is not to be challenged. He is Ramakant and Vasudha’s elder son and Shabnam’s lover. Guddu is a widower, having lost his wife Sweety in the first season.
Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Gajgamini Gupta
The 38-year-old Tripathi Sharma plays Gajgamini “Golu” Gupta who serves as Guddu’s right-hand, brains and brawns. Golu joined hands with Guddu in season 2 to wipe out Munna who killed her elder sister Sweety.
In Mirzapur season 3, Golu is helping Guddu consolidate his power—which means she must figure out where Kaleen Bhaiya is. At the same time, she must also keep Guddu away from his worst instincts which are usually his undoing.
Golu is Parshuram’s younger daughter.
Rasika Dugal, Beena Tripathi
The 39-year-old Dugal returns as Beena Tripathi who schemed and helped Guddu and Golu overthrow Kaleen Bhaiya from power. She is Akhandanand’s second wife and Munna’s stepmother.
While Beena makes it seem that her baby boy is Akhandanand’s, the father is actually her former lover and Tripathis’ former servant Raja. A secret that died with Akhandanand’s father after Beena killed him in season 2.
In Mirzapur season 3, Beena provides counsel to Guddu which is usually at odds with Golu.
Isha Talwar, Madhuri Yadav Tripathi
The 36-year-old Talwar plays Madhuri Yadav Tripathi, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh who followed in her father’s footsteps after his death in season 2.
Madhuri also lost her husband Munna in season 2. In Mirzapur season 3, Madhuri plans to take revenge on Guddu and dismantle the criminal nexus that underpins everything.
Vijay Varma, Shatrughan Tyagi
The 38-year-old Varma is back as Shatrughan “Chhote” Tyagi who is passing as his dead brother Bharat “Badde” Tyagi. Hindi for senior, Badde was considered the more mature one among the twins. Chhote is colloquial for junior.
The season 2 post-credits scene revealed that Chhote survived the shootout in the finale. In Mirzapur season 3, he must figure out how to serve those who believe him to be his brother while pursuing his own interests.
Shatrughan is Devdatt and Geeta’s younger son and Golu’s former love interest.
Anjumm Shharma, Sharad Shukla
The 43-year-old Shharma plays Sharad Shukla, the Jaunpur lord who wishes to swat aside Guddu and claim Purvanchal for himself. His dead father, Rati, once ruled Jaunpur.
That makes him Guddu’s chief opponent at the start of Mirzapur season 3. It’s why Sharad is providing sanctuary to Kaleen Bhaiya, as he’s influential and his words carry weight.
Sharad is Shakuntala’s son.
Priyanshu Painyuli, Radheshyam Agarwal
The 35-year-old Painyuli returns as Radheshyam “Robin” Agarwal who has a way with money and information. He’s worked with both Golu and Chhote.
At the start of Mirzapur season 3, Robin assumes a bigger role in the Pandit household. He is Dimpy’s fiancé.
Rajesh Tailang, Ramakant Pandit
The 53-year-old Tailang is back as Ramakant Pandit, a lawyer who has always kept his distance from his sons’ criminal activities. After his plan to turn in Guddu to the police goes awry, Ramakant kills a cop to save Guddu’s life in season 2.
Ramakant is seemingly in court to defend himself in Mirzapur season 3. He is Vasudha’s husband and Guddu and Dimpy’s father.
Sheeba Chaddha, Vasudha Pandit
The 51-year-old Chaddha plays Vasudha Pandit who finds herself sandwiched between the virtues of her husband, Ramakant, and a son in Guddu who will only do as he pleases.
Vasudha is also Dimpy’s mother.
Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Dimpy Pandit
The 33-year-old Gaur returns as Dimpy Pandit, the only daughter in the Pandit household whose life has been defined by the men around her. With her father and her brother living for themselves, she wants more from her life in Mirzapur season 3.
Dimpy is Robin’s fiancée, Guddu’s younger sister, and Ramakant and Vasudha’s daughter.
Shernavaz Jijina, Shabnam Lala
The 28-year-old Jijina is back as Shabnam Lala, the daughter of an opium entrepreneur and Guddu’s former lover. With her father in jail in Mirzapur season 3, Shabnam must figure out how to best look out for her family’s interests.
Manu Rishi Chadha, Vishudhanand Dubey
The 53-year-old Chadha is back as Vishudhanand Dubey, a high-ranking police officer in the state of Uttar Pradesh. With a new Chief Minister in place, how will Dubey navigate the shifting political landscape of Uttar Pradesh in Mirzapur season 3?
Rohit Tiwari, Anand
Tiwari plays Anand, CM Madhuri’s right-hand and personal assistant who does her bidding and orchestrates whatever is required. In season 2, he informed Madhuri of how her paternal uncle was involved in her father’s death and thereby helped her rise to power.
Prashansa Sharma, Radhiya
Sharma returns as Radhiya, the Tripathi house help. In Mirzapur season 3, she’s still working in the same home but for different owners. Radhiya provides for Guddu, Golu, Beena and her baby, and does whatever else is asked of her.
Neha Sargam, Saloni Tyagi
The 36-year-old Sargam plays Saloni Tyagi, Bharat’s wife who is clueless that his twin Shatrughan is posing as her dead husband. That technically makes her a widow. Will she find out in season 3? And what will she do once she does?
Meghna Malik, Shakuntala Shukla
The 52-year-old Malik is back as Shakuntala Shukla, the wise voice in Sharad’s ear as he tries to take over the Purvanchal seat of power in Mirzapur season 3. She is a widow and Sharad’s mother.
Liliput Faruqui, Devdatt Tyagi
The 73-year-old Faruqui plays Devdatt “Dadda” Tyagi, a powerful figure in the neighbouring state of Bihar. He lends his support to Sharad’s Mirzapur power grab to exact revenge on Guddu and Golu for the death of his son. Devdatt is Geeta’s husband and Bharat and Shatrughan’s father.
Alka Amin, Geeta Tyagi
The 63-year-old Amin returns as Geeta Tyagi, Devdatt’s wife and Bharat and Shatrughan’s mother. Geeta is an overbearing presence in the household, especially on Saloni and her young daughter.
Anil George, Lala
George plays Lala, the opium entrepreneur who’s solely interested in profit. His business is vital to the dons of Purvanchal. He finds himself in jail at the start of Mirzapur season 3. Lala is Shabnam’s father.
Shahnawaz Pradhan, Parshuram Gupta
Pradhan plays Parshuram Gupta, a police officer who is estranged from his daughter Golu but still cares deeply for her. He lost his elder daughter, Sweety, in the first season.
This is a posthumous appearance as Pradhan died in early 2023.
