It’s time to head back to Middle-earth. Almost two years to the day of its premiere, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power—the most expensive TV show of all time with one of the oddest titles ever for a major property—returns for its second season. Following the season finale reveal of “Who is Sauron?” and Galadriel casting him out, the cunning rising dark lord must figure out a new strategy to forge more Rings of Power. In season 2, Sauron takes the form of an elf called Annatar, who describes himself as the lord of gifts. As Annatar, he attempts to manipulate and prey on Celebrimbor’s ambition, as the elf smith is key to making seven rings for dwarf lords and—crucially—nine rings for men.

Sauron is inadvertently helped by the actions of Adar and his children: the orcs. The awakening of Mount Doom sends ripples across Khazad-dûm as King Durin III and Prince Durin IV deal with a major challenge. Over in Númenor, the death of the previous king and the blinding of Queen Regent Míriel opens the door for new pretenders. And though Galadriel has potentially delivered the elves’ salvation with the three rings, Lindon’s troubles are far from over. All of this will come together to deliver one of the most definitive battles from the Second Age of Middle-earth—the Siege of Eregion. When can you see it all? Presenting the release dates and times for The Rings of Power season 2.
