Spoilers ahead for episode 4 of The Rings of Power season 2.

Wait, what about the new rings? After teasing rings for dwarves at the end of episode 3, The Rings of Power spent its entire fourth episode outside of Eregion. Elrond and Galadriel assemble a small crew to get to the elvish realm and figure out why Celebrimbor has been unresponsive. But after finding the Axa Bridge broken, they were forced into a detour—with Galadriel using the visions provided by her ring to pick their path—where they had to deal with nightmarish Barrow-wights. After surviving and burying their dead, they came across Adar and his army of orcs, marching towards Eregion to confront Sauron. With no way out, Galadriel gave her ring to Elrond and essentially gave herself up to Adar.

Elsewhere, in the deserts of Rhûn, Nori and Poppy meet Merimac, who looks like them but doesn’t turn out to be a Harfoot. He’s a Stoor and unlike the nomadic Harfoots, they live in permanent homes, as their leader Gundabale Earthauler explains. She helps hide Nori and Poppy when they are paid a visit by the Dark Wizard’s henchmen. Given the threat, she may be forced to give them up. Separated from the Harfoot duo, The Stranger meets Tom Bombadil, who claims to be very old and has magical powers. Bombadil tells him his task is to face both Sauron and the Dark Wizard. And we got to meet more giants in episode 4. Isildur and Arondir discover the truth about Estrid on their way to rescue Theo and eventually encounter a pair of Ents (voiced by the lovely Jim Broadbent and Olivia Williams).

What’s going to happen to Galadriel? And will we return to Eregion next episode? Here are the release times for The Rings of Power season 2 episode 5.
