It’s time. England and Spain contest the Euro 2024 final on Sunday night in Berlin. Who’s going to lift the Coupe Henri Delaunay? Spain, who have won all six of their matches, are the clear favourites. They have been terrific throughout the European Championships. With Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, they are dynamic in attack. With Rodri, Fabián Ruiz, and Dani Olmo in the middle, they look like a unit that knows what to do. On top of all that, Spain press very well when they don’t have the ball. England, on the other hand, have been far from convincing. Safe for that first half against the Netherlands in the semi-final, they’ve never been a good watch. Sure, they have some great individual talent—in the likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Jude Bellingham—but they will need to work as a team to vanquish the fearless Spanish.
